Good English (Biblical Twin Words)

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ

There is a technical difference between the words two and twin. Mathematically speaking two is a total-one plus one. Two is conveniently separated  Twin cannot be separated. It is not even separable. Mr. John has a twin house. Mr. Robert has two houses - one house in Bangalore and another house in Mysore. Hyderabad and Secunderabad are twin cities. Kolkata and Mumbai are the two biggest cities in India. These examples are sufficient to prove the exact difference between twin and two.

There are many twin words in Bibles. A man with a fellow feeling and helping nature can be mentioned in Biblical words as a Good Samaritan. One of the important events in the history of Christ was His Last Supper. That was the final occasion when Jesus Christ and his disciples had supper just before the death on the cross of Christ. The expression Last Supper is not only a Biblical win word but also a set phrase. (group of words) from a linguistic point of view. Instead of the Last Supper you cannot say the Final Supper, the Ultimate Supper, the End Supper, similarly you cannot change the Last Supper into the last Dinner.

Christian devotees in particular pray to God to ''give them their daily bread''. The term daily bread must be fixed very carefully. We want only daily bread. We do not want biweekly bread, weekly bread, fortnightly bread, half yearly bread, and annual bread. We can say neither daily butter nor daily jam. It shows the clear an definite socialism (wealth belonging to people as a whole) in Christianity. A Christian does not pray for himself alone. He prays ''give us''. It shows sound democracy and social welfare.

Gospel can be defined as the religious doctrine of Christ and His disciples. Truths contained in it is Gospel Truth. Any divine truth that cannot and shouldn't be opposed and that should be honoured and obeyed with deep respect can be mentioned as a gospel truth.

So it goes without saying that Biblical twin words have made the English language rich!
